Sometimes the right ring already exists. Sometimes you've looked at hundreds and every one is almost right. That's usually when bespoke makes sense.
I'm Patrycja, founder of THERESHEIS.jewels. I help couples in Edinburgh, across Scotland and the rest of the UK design an engagement ring around their own idea, stone and budget. We work it out together, and the ring is then made by the specialist jeweller I work with.
What bespoke means
A bespoke ring is made for you, not picked from a collection. You might want to mix details from rings you've saved, change the stone on a ring you love, or start from something completely new.
You don't need technical knowledge to begin. Photos, screenshots, a Pinterest board or a rough sketch are all enough. So is a sentence like "I love ovals, but I don't know what setting I want."
How it works
- We talk. Style, metal, stone, ring size and a rough budget. I'll ask what matters most to you, whether that's the size of the stone, its quality or the design itself.
- You get a quote. Once we know the direction, I prepare a price.
- You see a CAD. Within a few days you get a detailed drawing of your ring, with measurements, so you can judge the real proportions and not only a picture. You can ask for changes.
- Optional model. If you'd like to hold something before you commit, I can arrange a wax model, or a silver version set with cubic zirconia, for an extra cost. It helps most with completely original designs.
- We make it. Once you approve the CAD, production starts.
Metals
Yellow, white or rose gold, in 9ct or 18ct. The metal changes the look, the feel and the price, so I look at it together with the stone and setting, not on its own.
Diamonds and gemstones
You can choose a natural or a lab-grown diamond. Both are beautiful. Lab-grown often lets you go bigger or choose a higher grade within the same budget. Some people prefer the rarity of a natural stone. Certified stones are available on request.
Oval, round, emerald, radiant, pear, marquise and cushion cuts all work. So do three-stone rings, toi et moi designs, hidden halos and asymmetric ideas. Sapphires and other coloured stones are an option too, as the centre stone or alongside diamonds.
Family stones
An inherited diamond or gemstone can often become the centre of a new ring, once it's checked for condition and suitability. It's a lovely way to wear something that means a lot. For quality reasons, the ring itself is made in new gold, so I don't melt down existing pieces.
How long it takes
Production takes around 4 to 5 weeks after you approve the CAD. If you have a proposal date coming up, it can sometimes be done in 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the design and the stone. If you already have a date in mind, start early.
What it costs
There's no set price, because the price comes from your choices. The centre stone makes the biggest difference. After that come the metal, the amount of gold and how detailed the setting is.
Bespoke doesn't have to mean expensive. A simple solitaire around a well-chosen stone costs very differently from a pavé ring with a large natural diamond. Tell me your budget and what matters most, and I'll show you what's possible within it. That way you pay for what you care about, and nothing else.
Why bespoke
Maybe you want the band a certain width for her hand. Maybe she's always wanted an oval but doesn't like classic solitaires. Maybe you'd like two birthstones, or a small detail only the two of you know about. Bespoke lets you stop searching for something that doesn't exist yet and make it.
Start your ring
Send me your inspiration, preferred stone, metal, ring size if you know it, and a rough budget. If you don't know all of that yet, that's fine. Your first message can be as simple as: "I have an idea for an engagement ring."
I'll take it from there.

FAQs
Can I design my ring remotely?
Yes. Everything can be done by email and messages, using photos and sketches, and you approve the CAD before anything is made.
Can I choose my own diamond?
Yes. Natural or lab-grown, in the shape, size and quality you want, within your budget.
Can you make a ring from a photo?
A photo is a great starting point. I won't copy another jeweller's design, but we can take the parts you love and build your own ring from them.
Do you work with clients outside Edinburgh?
Yes. Anywhere in Scotland and the UK.
Do I approve the design before it's made?
Always. Nothing goes into production until you're happy with the CAD.
